Kenneth E. Taylor (Ken) is President and Chairman of the Board of Ohio CAT, the authorized and exclusive Caterpillar dealer in Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana. The company has served the equipment and power systems needs of local businesses since 1945. In addition, the company distributes agricultural equipment and machinery for the aggregates sector. It is also a Peterbilt truck and a Thomas Built bus dealer.
Ken joined the company in 1988, gaining experience in all areas of the business before assuming the role of President after his father’s untimely death in November 1994. He is the third generation of the Taylor family to own and run the business.
Ken holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Amherst College (1984, Cum Laude), and he received his MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University (1997). He also currently serves as Chairman of the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), having previously served as Chairman of AED’s Governmental Affairs Committee and as a board member of the Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation (AEDF). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO).
Ken is a past; past President of the Ohio Equipment Distributors Association (OEDA) and the Cooperative Association of Tractor Dealers, Inc. (CATD). He is an active member of the Ohio Contractors Association (OCA), the Ohio Council of Retail Merchants (OCRM), the Fisher Institute for Professional Selling at The University of Akron, and IBuildAmerica—Ohio (an Ohio-focused workforce development organization). He is an active lay leader of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lakewood, Ohio. Both personally and as President of Ohio CAT, Ken is an active philanthropist supporting a large number of non-profit organizations throughout the state of Ohio. Ken is married to Martha, and together they have four children.
